Serving the people of the 10th district is a 24/7 commitment, one that I enjoy everyday!
I hosted a health technology roundtable at City of Hope in Zion, stopped by a Hispanic Heritage Luncheon hosted by Marc Jones, and filmed a new episode of Let’s Talk About It!
There are two weeks until election day! 🗳️
With early voting locations open across Cook, Lake, and McHenry Counties, there are many opportunities to cast your vote early and in-person. To find an early voting location near you, click below. ⬇️

Voting Before Election Day
This LGBTQ+ History Month, we celebrate the generations of LGBTQ+ people who have fought for equality and helped move our country forward. We honor their history and continue the work by strengthening protections against discrimination and ensuring equal rights under the law.
Going into Game 4 tonight, I’m cheering on the White Sox as they battle the Cleveland Guardians for the win. Let’s go, Sox! ⚾️
Every student deserves to feel safe on campus. This decision weakens protections for pregnant students, LGBTQ+ students, and sexual assault survivors. We must restore the Title IX protections students rely on to receive the help and support they deserve. www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...

Education Department officially scraps Biden-era Title IX rules
The new regulations mark a return to rules from the first Trump administration.
Like with everything he touches, Trump's ego is running the show. This time, he is threatening to take a literal wrecking ball to a presidential memorial because he's not getting his way. The American people have had enough of these temper tantrums. apnews.com/article/kenn...

Judge orders Kennedy Center to provide 30 days’ notice before making any major physical changes
A federal judge has ordered the Kennedy Center to provide 30 days’ notice before making any major physical changes to the building, including demolishing it as President Donald Trump has threatened.
Equal pay cannot be separated from equal opportunity. On International Equal Pay Day, I stand with women in calling for equal pay for work of equal value. I’m glad to support the Paycheck Fairness Act and will continue working to close the pay gap once and for all. eca.unwomen.org/en/stories/e...

Equal pay for work of equal value: A gap that is still with us
Women across Europe and Central Asia earn, on average, 20.4 per cent less than men per month. The gender pay gap is linked to women’s greater share of unpaid care responsibilities, their concentration in lower-paid and feminized sectors, career interruptions, part-time work and discrimination. On International Equal Pay Day, UN Women stands with women workers everywhere and calls for equal pay for work of equal value, critical to reducing poverty and advancing women’s economic justice and rights.
No one should have to choose between paying the bills and putting food on the table. Trump and Republicans' Big Ugly Law have kicked nearly 200,000 IL residents off SNAP, leaving vulnerable Americans hungry. I'll continue fighting to restore SNAP funding.

New report points to worsening hunger crisis in Chicago, with 1 in 3 families facing food insecurity
A new report released Monday by Chicago’s leading anti-hunger organization indicates a worsening hunger crisis across the city and its surrounding areas.
President Trump continues to attack Americans' right to vote by mail, and if upheld, his plan could silence millions of legal voters. Democrats remain committed to defending our democracy from dangerous power grabs!

Postal Service plans may keep voters from getting ballots, whistleblower says
An anonymous federal official warns that a rushed USPS portal tied to Trump’s mail-voting order could reject large batches of ballots before the midterms.
I will continue to fight every attack on voters' rights coming from this administration to ensure voters, not politicians, decide the outcome of our elections. apnews.com/article/trum...

Supreme Court sides with Trump administration on mail voting restrictions ahead of midterms
The Supreme Court’s conservative majority didn’t decide the legality of Trump’s order, instead ruling that states who sued did not have the legal right to challenge it.
Gas prices across the 10th District continue to put a strain on families and working Americans.
We will continue working to bring down costs and make sure families can not only get by but get ahead.
Prime Minister Carney said it clearly – tariffs are taxes paid by hardworking American families. Trump’s newest move to levy 50% tariffs on our neighbor and ally Canada is the absolute wrong move. His chaotic trade policy has done nothing but hurt American workers and businesses.
President Trump’s on-again off-again trade policy has created trade wars with our allies and economic uncertainty for American families. In Illinois, household costs have increased by $2,200 due to tariffs.
Today's jobs report shows us that the U.S. economy lost 23,000 jobs in July, making it even harder for Americans to make ends meet. We are fighting to expand access to good-paying jobs, so every American has the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families.
Every American deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare when and where they need it.
That's why my @NewDemCoalition colleagues and I released our Affordability Agenda — to put forward a real plan for how we can lower healthcare costs.
Today the Supreme Court affirmed what we've known all along: the right to vote is sacred. No one can steal it away.
I will continue to fight against President Trump's attacks on mail-in voting and fight to protect the future of our democracy.

In January, President Trump called for Congress to pass on a ban on institutional investors buying up family homes. We did that – with bipartisan support – and he is refusing to make it law. With housing costs rising nationwide, we need to deliver relief to the American people. Sign the bill!
From attacks on Americans’ privacy to Trump’s demands to pass the SAVE America Act, Democrats will continue opposing attacks on voting rights and ensure everyone has fair and safe access to the ballot box.

American families have been squeezed at the gas pump since the war in Iran began. Average gas prices nationally have risen 34%, forcing Americans to make choices between filling their tank and paying for essentials. We must take action now to lower gas prices and give families the relief they need.
